“Not knowing what to expect when I first joined but I'm more than thankful for being a part of this experience! A place where as a brown man I felt safe enough to discuss topics I've never shared with my closest friends, a place where there was camaraderie amongst other men who look like me, talk like me, have had a similar upbringing as me. So many "BARS" and gems shared on the weekly from parenting tips, relationship advice, wisdom from personal life experiences, being and feeling supported by others with current struggles. Man, the notion that as men as a brown man we are supposed to do things on our own, we're supposed to bottle up our emotions and keep grinding away, pisteando to numb ourselves that ain't it but those experiences are valid. Those actions we take are valid, but they ain't the only options we have to choose from. A lot of us suffer in silence or hide it well behind a smile but we don't have to. There are places where we can let our guard down however much we feel comfortable with without being judged and this group is one of those places. Forever grateful, forever indebted to the men that created this program and those I was able to share the experience with👊🏽

Latino Dad Connection’s 8 week series is a wonderful way to build community, learn how to be a better dad and partner, and heal from the trauma wounds one might carry. I am so glad to have gone through this program because I found other brown fathers committed to breaking oppressive cycles and focused on healing our inner children and raising children who are loved for who they are and as they are.

"I was looking for a place to connect with other dads and build community. I came across Latino Dad Connection and I met with Efrain and Jose to learn more and form the moment I met them I knew they put their hearts into this work and have a passion to bring men together by modeling what it is to be a strong man and father through showing love and vulnerability. I have been very lucky to participate in an 8 week group and have met some amazing fathers that remind me I'm not alone in this. Doing this work is not easy and often feels very isolating . That's why it is so important to find a community that you can relate to. The work WORKS.” Just show up compadre!
